Article/Endorsement: New book on reforms needed in Central America, Escaping the Governance Gap

I am pleased to have endorsed a new book by Neil Shenai, entitled "Escaping the Governance Trap: Economic Reform in the Northern Triangle." Shenai argues that the Central American “Northern Triangle” countries of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras are stuck in “governance traps.” To escape the governance trap, the Northern Triangle should undertake a series of reforms to strengthen public sector accountability, increase fiscal space and resilience, safeguard macroeconomic sustainability, improve financial access and deterrence, and boost potential growth. Shenai also highlights the role that stakeholders like the United States can play to help in these reform efforts. Here is the link to the book:
