On Wednesday April 8 2026, George Washington University held an event that discussed, "Spring of the Vanishing," a documentary film discussing a wave of violent events in 20i8 in near Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.  The event discussed the violence that erupted and subsequent events and discussions that affected civilians, accused criminals and that those charged with law enforcement in the area.  WOLA was one of the main hosts of the discussion.
